A Multitude of Donation Opportunities

Of course sending a check will always be a wonderful way to contribute to Touro Synagogue and the above list of Katrina Needs gives ample reason to donate, but we have many other funds and opportunities for giving as well. Below are some of our most popular funding opportunities.

Endowed Funds
Jackie Wolff Memorial Fund - Primarily supports scholarships for Religious School and Hebrew School education
Debra Van Der Linden Sidelnik Memorial Fund - Primarily supports the development of our Youth Leadership through scholarships to conventions
Robert Katz and Alilce Mayer Katz Memorial Fund - Primarily supports scholarships for Jewish Camping
Touro Synagogue Building Preservation Fund - Primarily supports Emergency Capital Repairs for the synagogue facilities

Synagogue Support
Jazz Fest Shabbat - Enables congregation to continue to produce our annual Jazz Fest Shabbat worship
Religious School Support - Helps to cover the cost of the religious education of our children
Adult Education - Helps Touro Synagogue bring in speakers and educational opportunities
Edie and Paul Rosenblum Gift of Israel Program - Helps cover the synagogue's responsibility to support this Federation program that helps our students travel to Israel
Social Action Support- Enables the congregation to produce social action events such as Mitzvah Day and Weekend of Peace
Caring and Mitzvah - Money covers assistance for those in need
Choir/Music Support - Opporutunity to enable the synagogue to continue to provide funding for our wonderful Adult and Children's choirs

Sponsorship Opportunities
Shabbat Pulpit Flowers - For $60 you can sponsor the Pulpit flowers for Friday night and Saturday morning worship in honor or memory of someone you love
Oneg Shabbat - For $250 you can sponsor one of the weekly Oneg Shabbat spreads in honor or memory of someone you love. For $60 you can be a partial sponsor of the Oneg Shabbat. This option is not available if a $250 sponsor has already been received.

It is very important that you notify our Executive Director at 504-895-4843 or lgoodman@tourosynagogue.com if you make a transfer of appreciated assest because current privacy laws can inhibit our being notified of who made the donation.

Thank you for your intent to benefit Touro Synagogue by transferring stocks to our brokerage account. A gift of appreciated assets is one of the most beneficial ways of making donations to Touro Synagogue and can be done to cover your annual contribution, campaign contributions, endowment gifts and much more.

While Touro does not recommend any particular broker or brokerage firm, transfers to the account below will incur no brokerage fees when the stocks are sold and therefore are beneficial to Touro Synagogue. For Touro to take advantage of this generous donation by one of our members, you must ask your broker to transfer your asset to this account using the following information:
