Shabbat Evening Worship

Friday Evening we hold a variety of worships. Our Kabbalat Shabbat worship is held at 6:00pm except for some special worships and during Summer Union Worship. DuringMishkan T Kabbalat Shabbat, we worship using Mishkan T'Filah, the new Shabbat prayer book from the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR).

Often, we have guests who speak from our pulpit such as visiting Rabbis or leaders of the Reform Movement. In addition, Shabbat worship is followed by an Oneg Shabbat or a congregational Shabbat dinner in the Grant Meyer Garden Pavilion. We welcome everyone to worship with us and invite you to participate in our worship.

Shabbat Morning Worship

Our Saturday morning Torah worship always takes place at 10:30 a.m. We worship using the Mishkan T'Filah, the new prayer book for the Reform Movement.

Everyone is invited to join us to celebrate Shabbat and remain afterwards for Challah and Kiddush or, in the event of the simcha of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, a Kiddush Luncheon.

High Holy Day Worship and Schedule

High Holy Day worship at Touro Synagogue in our historic main sanctuary is awe inspiring. The sanctuary overflows with worshippers and the bima is dressed in its finest flowers. If you are in New Orleans during Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur or Sukkot, we hope you will join us for worship at the appropriate time. Below is the schedule for our worship this year filled with events for Tots, young children, music lovers and worshipers of all ages.

Summer Union Worship

Summer Union Worship

A unique New Orleans Metropolitan Area summer tradition. When the temperatures start to rise and our families head for cooler or at least dryer locales for their vacations, three of the areas Reform congregations band together to worship. Each congregation hosts worship for all three congregations at their location for one of the three summer months. The months rotate each year, but the idea is the same. Come together as a community and join in song and celebration of our Judaism.
